- Clearly communicate expectations and changes to surgical pathology faculty
- Work with IU Health leadership to plan for the capital purchases and investments required to implement digital pathology
- Oversee a surgical pathology signout service of 35 surgical pathology faculty
- Provide direction of surgical pathology services at 8 hospitals within the IU Health System
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows

Due to a promotion, the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine in conjunction with IU Health Physicians, are recruiting an experienced surgical pathologist to fulfill the role of director of surgical pathology.
The individual selected will be based at the IU Health Central Pathology Laboratory (IUHPL).Anatomic pathology is currently comprised of fifty-four pathologists, with a plan for continued expansion.
The ideal candidate will be arriving at a freshly renovated histology and immunohistochemistry laboratories designed to accommodate the integration of digital pathology into the practice.
These factors afford our new director of surgical pathology the rare opportunity to build and innovate.This position is available on the clinical track: academic rank is determined by qualifications and level of experience.
