- Assisting with transfers of patients between facilities and within the same facility while attending to the personal needs of patients and their families during each transport.
- Acting as a professional representative of the Nicklaus Children's Hospital LifeFlight Transport Program in every work shift.
- Ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of MCHS ambulances, transport equipment, and supplies during each shift.
- Performing assessments and monitoring patients during each contact.
- Fostering corporate compliance following the Code of Business and Ethical Conduct in every shift.
- Providing life support to ill or injured patients according to written protocols under medical staff supervision during each transport.
- Responding to transport requests using all of LifeFlight's ground vehicles, managing record keeping, data entry, and offering clerical support.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of the LifeFlight program by attending meetings, in-services, committees, and completing assigned projects.
- Offering continuous supervision and observation of behavioral health patients and adhering to non-violent crisis intervention strategies.
- Emergency Medical Technician certification
- Emergency Vehicle Operator certification
- Driver's License Class E
- American Heart Association BLS certification must be active and in good standing throughout employment
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required within 1 year of hire
- Minimum of 1 year experience as an EMT
- Previous experience driving an emergency vehicle
- High school education or equivalent preferred
- 1 year of experience driving an emergency vehicle preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- NREMT certification preferred
- CPR instructor certification preferred
- Availability up to 2 hours before/after each scheduled shift
- Willingness to be on-call for 12 hours per week

Job Summary
Responsible for taking care of injured patients transported by the LifeFlight Transport Program. Tasks include maintaining and managing the ambulance and its equipment, as well as driving the ambulances for both critical care and single provider teams. Additionally, responsible for responding to transport requests using all of LifeFlight's ground vehicles, handling record keeping, data entry, and providing clerical support. Also, accountable for contributing to the continuous development of the LifeFlight program by actively participating in various activities such as meetings, in-services, committees, and assigned projects by the LifeFlight Leaders.
