    Public Works Services Director

    Job Summary:

    • Lead and manage a motivated team of 161 employees, overseeing various public works activities, including facility, park, and street maintenance.
    • Direct day-to-day activities and programs within the department, managing several challenging capital projects.
    • Oversee, evaluate, and project costs for the yearly budget, developing and implementing department goals that align with the City Council and vision for Rancho Cucamonga.

    Responsibilities:

    • Leading and managing a motivated team of staff members.
    • Supervising day-to-day activities and programs within the department.
    • Managing several challenging capital projects.
    • Overseeing, evaluating, and projecting costs for the yearly budget.
    • Developing, planning, and implementing department goals aligning with the City Council and vision for Rancho Cucamonga.

    Requirements:

    • Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, or related field.
    • At least five years of responsible management and supervisory experience.
    • Seven years of increasingly responsible experience in the areas of public works maintenance, including streets, parks, trees, storm drains, facilities, and vehicle maintenance and replacement.

    Benefits:

    • Administrative leave: one hundred hours per fiscal year.
    • Life insurance: life insurance in the amount of 100% of the annual base salary plus $75,000.
    • Medical: $1,500/monthly city paid.
    • Dental/vision: city-paid.
    • Automotive allowance: $500/month.
    • Executive reimbursement: up to $2,000 each fiscal year to be applied to either executive physical or technology reimbursement.
    • Deferred compensation: the city pays 6%, city matches up to an additional 4%.
    • On-site gym: open to all city staff.
