    Geosyntec presents a fantastic opportunity for an Early-Career Instrumentation Specialist at our Kennesaw, Georgia location. This role will allow you to apply your academic expertise and practical knowledge of standard practices and techniques in environmental and geotechnical engineering data projects. You will be supporting and managing projects related to environmental assessments, groundwater remediation, geotechnical construction, and more.

    • Analysis, interpretation, and management of diverse datasets using various computer applications (e.g., MS Access, MS SQL Server, Azure Blob Storage);
    • Development and management of Extract Transform Load (ETL) workflows to automate data compilation from multiple sources and facilitate data serving to maps, reports, and other tools;
    • Utilization of advanced statistical and computational methods for data analysis and assessments (R, Python, AI/ML pipelines);
    • Data visualization to convey technical information effectively;
    • Examination of historical data to uncover past trends and patterns, as well as predictive analysis of future trends.
    • Installation, design, and supervision of geotechnical instrumentation monitoring systems.
    • Creation and setup of engineering decision support systems and platforms;
    • Development of interactive data dashboards, presentations, technical reports, and legal reports;
    • Assistance in proposal development and other business growth endeavors; and
    • Engagement with both internal and external clients to aid in database management and data visualization for environmental engineering and geoscience projects.
    • Fieldwork involvement of up to 50%;
    • Bachelor's degree in geography, engineering, computer science, science, or geology (mandatory);
    • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in database management, visualization tools, modeling, and/or software development; or a comparable mix of education and experience (mandatory);
    • Outstanding writing and communication abilities (mandatory);
    • Capability to automate processes using scripts (e.g., R, Python) (mandatory);
    • Prior experience in managing environmental, geological, and geotechnical data collection (preferred);
    • Knowledge of laboratory analytical data validation and verification processes (preferred);
    • Fieldwork and overnight travel will be necessary;
    • Completion of Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background screening (mandatory);
    • Possession of a valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (mandatory).
