    Description
    Remote role (prefer to reside in FL or GA) with minimal travel
    Must possess an NCEES accreditation or be a licensed P.E. in FL or GA.


    Our client is a wholesale manufacturer that provides prefabricated buildings and structures to modular building dealers in an approved network that sell or lease buildings to end users.

    Projects vary in size up to 180,000 SF+ multi-story complexes located throughout the US and the Caribbean.

    Engineer Position
    The successful candidate is a Professional Civil Engineer with certificates as a Structural Engineer.

    This is a full-time position reporting directly to the VP of Operations and includes working with sales, estimating, and production departments.


    Education:
    Bachelor of Science in Engineering and associated majors


    Registration:

    Licensed Professional Engineer:
    preference given to candidates actively registered in California ,

    Texas

    and/or Florida with NCEES/NSPE accreditation for reciprocity to qualify for future additional state registrations. The position is located in Phoenix, Arizona, however other office locations may be considered.


    Experience:
    Minimum of 3 years as a practicing P.E. with C.E./S.E. credentials. This position requires the preparation of structural calculations and any needed structural details for prefabricated structures.


    Skills:
    Building construction design experience with strong computational background using:
    Excel spreadsheet (existing in-house database),
    CFS 12 (light gauge steel)

    RISA
    Steel and wood analysis (such as truss, joist, stud, rafter, plate, fastener and diaphragm analysis).
    Component experience including roof membrane, sheathing and fastener calculations as well as high wind zones.

    Basic electrical, mechanical, and plumbing experience – signing and sealing of these building design elements are a part of the position requirements.

    Energy analysis experience is helpful including Enercalc and ComCheck.
    Military high security experience is helpful including SCIF, Tempest and hardened structures is available. Background check will be required for these projects.
    Knowledge of building codes, ASCE wind requirements and associated design parameters. Buildings are of wood, steel or hybrid construction using an integrated steel chassis. The candidate shall be familiar with design loads that are quite varied across the United States.
    Light AutoCAD capabilities for mark-up, review and approval (no production drafting).
    Strong written and verbal communications.
    Dependable work ethic with healthy work/live focus.

    Description of Work
    All project plans are required to be designed, reviewed and stamped by the engineer of record. The company uses pre-engineered standards for many states; however, many projects may require supplemental engineering and calculations.
