Job Title: AS/400 Developer

Location: Issaquah, WA (Onsite)

Hiring Mode: Contract

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled AS/400 Developer to join our team in Issaquah, WA. The successful candidate will have strong programming skills on the iSeries platform and expertise in RPG, SQLRPGLE, and Control Language (CLP/CLLE). This is a contract position requiring onsite presence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop new programs and analyze existing ones using RPG, RPG ILE, SQLRPGLE, and Control Language (CLP/CLLE).
• Modify complex SQL queries and embedded SQL in SQLRPGLE, Cursor programming.
• Create and analyze Physical files, Logical Files, SQL tables, Indexes, Views, and Stored procedures.
• Proficient in screen programming, including Display Files, Subfiles, and Printer files.
• Document business rules effectively and create data mapping documents after analyzing program flows and data flows.
• Develop program modules, binding directories, and service programs using ILE Programming.
• Utilize Message Queue (MQ), MQ Trigger, and embed XML tags in RPG Programs.
• Communicate effectively with clients and analysts to own project tasks completely.

Good to Have:

• Experience with Turnover, the code configuration management tool.
• Familiarity with X-Analysis, a cross-reference tool for iSeries.
• Knowledge of Triggers and Message Queuing for inter-program/inter-system communication.
• Experience with ROBOT job scheduler for creating and setting up scheduled jobs in the iSeries.
• Understanding of normalized, denormalized tables, and Star Schema databases.
• Working knowledge of iSeries Navigator to run queries and analyze SQL query performance.
• Familiarity with the Retail Domain, particularly in areas such as Merchandising, Warehouse Management, and Distribution.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an AS/400 Developer with a strong command of RPG, RPG ILE, SQLRPGLE, and CLP/CLLE.
• Proficiency in SQL concepts and database management on the iSeries platform.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with analysts and clients.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Ability to work onsite in Issaquah, WA.
