    PROJECT ENGINEER

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This entry-level position in construction management offers growth potential into roles in project management or estimation. The Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the acquisition, initiation, and meticulous management of mechanical construction projects. Leadership and exceptional time management abilities are essential for this role. Successful candidates should be detail-oriented individuals with a strong drive. Excellent communication skills will be necessary to effectively collaborate on project particulars with the Estimator or Project Manager.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist in estimating, planning, purchasing, and executing construction projects
    • Gain a comprehensive understanding of project scope, contract requirements, and the change order process
    • Communicate schedules and deadlines efficiently with field and office staff
    • Document and maintain crucial communications with clients and fellow contractors
    • Create, manage, and update RFI, submittal, change order, and other construction logs
    • Coordinate meeting agendas and minutes
    • Develop, maintain, and oversee project schedules
    • Manage quality control procedures as needed
    • Complete job closeout tasks effectively, including commissioning, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings
    • Monitor and ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management

    SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Strong ability to plan and schedule construction activities
    • Maintain professional relationships with clients and subcontractors
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Willingness to travel and potentially work at project sites
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Project, and Primavera

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE (preferred in order):

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering OR
    • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Engineering with Mechanical Emphasis OR
    • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management OR
    • 4+ years of experience in construction leadership or management

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The individual in this role must be capable of moving across a construction site in various conditions throughout the year. Travel to meetings with clients, engineering firms, job sites, and company offices will be required.
