    Job Description Description:

    The Quality and Configuration Manager is responsible for development, implementation, and maintenance of the ProActive Quality Management System (QMS), including the ProActive Configuration Management System (CMS).


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Ensure that the QMS and CMS meet customer, internal, industry, and

    statutory/regulatory

    requirements.

    Implement and maintain tools and databases to capture product data including requirements, specifications, drawings and associated lists, software source code and executables, and change history.

    Perform configuration status accounting, maintaining records of product configuration history, changes processed, and current product baseline status.

    Maintain a risk register to capture risks and opportunities, and appropriate actions, related to the continued operation of the QMS and the CMS.

    Monitor, measure, and trend performance against Quality Objectives, and lead corrective action when required.
    Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection and testing of hardware, software and systems as required to support program milestones. Ensure timely

    inspection/calibration

    of monitoring and measuring devices. Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
    Ensure that hardware, software, and process defects are recorded and properly dispositioned. Ensure that root cause analysis is completed, and corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence of defects.
    Communicate with customers and suppliers relating to project goals and issues. Ensure that ProActive QMS and CMS requirements are flowed down to suppliers and subcontractors.
    Ensure that product configuration data is stored securely with appropriate backup systems.
    Achieve and maintain external third-party certification of the QMS.

    Requirements:

    Education / Experience:
    Must have at least a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, or related technical field; advanced degree is preferred.

    At least 10 years of work experience in Quality Assurance and Configuration Management should be combined with a demonstrated track record of accomplishments as an engineering manager, and with satisfying customers in technology-driven, developing companies.

    Requires in-depth knowledge of industry standards including ISO 9001, AS9100, AS5553, CMMI-DEV, ANSI/ESD S20.20, and MIL-STD-882. ASQ

    Security Clearance:
    Must be able to acquire and maintain a Secret Clearance. US Citizenship is a requirement.

    Certificates and Licenses:
    ASQ certification as Certified Manager of

    Quality/Organizational

    Excellence is preferred.

    Computer Skills:


    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of MS Office products including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.


    In addition, the following are required:
    (1) use of Internet search tools and resources, including ASQ and IAQG websites, to research and analyze data; (2) use of computer-aided-design (CAD) tools to review and approve product drawings and technical data, (3) use of software development tools to review and approve new code release and software changes.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a relatively quiet office setting with the use of office equipment and interaction with other employees.
