Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced System Administrator with strong expertise in Citrix technologies and network infrastructure.
This individual will play a key role in building and optimizing our Citrix stack within a VMware environment and will be responsible for engineering, administration, performance optimization, and high-level support.
This position requires both strong technical depth and the ability to present solutions to business leaders and executive management.Core Experience
Required Experience & Technical Skills
5+ years of Network Administration (Required)
3+ years of Network Administration and Infrastructure experience
3–5 years of experience with:
Citrix XenApp (6.x, 7.x)
Citrix XenDesktop (7.x)
3–5 years of experience engineering and administering remote access gateways including:
Citrix
Cisco
Juniper Networks
2+ years of experience with:
Citrix Access Gateway / Citrix NetScaler
Infrastructure & Systems Knowledge
Strong understanding of Citrix farm architecture (network, storage, server, database relationships)
Experience with DNS and DHCP
Thorough knowledge of:
IPSec and SSL VPN technologies
Secure remote access architecture and data security design
Strong technical knowledge of:
Windows Server 2003 / 2008
Windows XP / Windows 7
SQL Server
Altiris
MS Office
Active Directory
Working knowledge of application deployment processes
Strong functional network troubleshooting skills
Virtualization & Citrix Responsibilities
Build and optimize Citrix stack on top of a VMware environment
Assess environment readiness for virtualization
Identify server performance metrics for virtualization suitability
Configure Access Gateway implementations
Design Provisioning Services (PVS) redundancy and network optimizations
Optimize server performance
Identify and resolve problem trends
Interpret and analyze Edgesight reporting data
Develop training tools and technical documentation
Oversee implementation and knowledge transfer
Support & Communication
Provide escalated, highly complex technical support
Troubleshoot and resolve critical system issues
Deliver support telephonically and electronically
Present technical solutions to business stakeholders and leadership
Communicate system proposals clearly to management and customers
Soft Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent presentation abilities
Strong interpersonal skills (customers, senior leadership, team members)
Ability to work independently and within a global team
Comfortable in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and tight deadlines
