Job description
Coast Redwoods Montessori serves up to 50 children between the ages of 6 months and 6 years old in our highly regarded program. We have two sister schools in Santa Cruz County, Little Acorns Montessori and Quail Hollow Montessori. We are seeking a fully qualified preschool teacher to join our team, guiding children in our morning Montessori work period as well as enrichment in our afternoon program.
This teacher would:
- Contribute to our afternoon enrichment program, creating engaging theme-based learning activities.
- Lead informational and fun circles with songs and presentations.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes social and emotional growth.
- Co-teach in the Montessori morning work period.
- Ensure the health and safety of the children in our care.
- Communicate positively with parents.
- Follow all licensing guidelines and procedures.
- Provide personal care to children as needed.
- Observe and track developmental and academic progress.
Montessori training or experience is highly preferred but not required for this position, but an interest and willingness to learn about and practice the philosophy is important.
A fully qualified preschool teacher must have 12 units of ECE, including child, family, community and child development, at least one year of teaching experience in a licensed preschool, and have criminal background clearance.
