    Job Description / Essential Elements:

    DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO:
    School Administrator, Director of Maintenance/Operations, or designee

    SUMMARY OF POSITION:


    At a High School facility, will patrol the buildings, parking areas, grounds, and other areas to prevent illegal acts in order to maintain order and a safe working environment.

    In addition, the Custodian/Security III will perform facility set-ups, maintenance and custodial work in the cleaning and maintenance of assigned buildings, equipment, facilities, and grounds.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
    Performs custodial work, light maintenance, and grounds work and facility set-upsRemoves graffiti from various surfaces such as wood, glass, plaster, stucco, wallboard, brick, and cementPick up litter from buildings and surrounding grounds and parking lotsLift and store suppliesReport safety, sanitation, and fire hazards and removes object hazardous to persons and propertyChecks, monitors, and questions students or visitors who appear to be loitering or parking inappropriatelyObserves and reports to law enforcement agencies any acts by persons which contribute to injury to students or staffDevelops and maintains friendly and cordial relations with students, staff and District officialsObserves and reports hazards or activities which may affect district safetyChecks, opens and locks doors, windows and gates as neededAssists with substitute custodian monitoring and schedulingMonitor traffic flow (visitors/students) on campus throughout the dayAssist with security issuesAssist with student eventsMaintains regular and prompt attendance in the workplacePerforms other related duties as assigned

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Any combination equivalent to:
    graduate from high school and minimum of one year experience in a custodial or maintenance field
