    Description

    PURPOSE:
    The Operations and Strategy Demand Planning Analyst supports the growth of our National Grocery Team.

    As a demand planning expert, this individual will facilitate customer-level planning by compiling the insights and ambitions of our sales and marketing teams and customers while analyzing sales trends and opportunities.

    They will also build redline reports to work with the purchasing team to ensure proper inventory levels and raw materials are in stock based on customer volumes and demands by item and location.


    DEMAND PLANNING
    Develop effective forecast models based on trends and market patterns
    Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to produce accurate and actionable forecasts for implementation with supply chain and production teams
    Forecast new business and analyze existing business
    Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy

    STRATEGY & ANALYSIS

    Identify, distinguish, and drive strategic initiatives and analyses that support the business objectives in both short-term and long-range planning.

    Support the execution of critical strategic initiatives aimed at improving business performance, including supporting sales activities, actionable demand planning, and forecasting with customers and the internal team.


    CUSTOMER SUCCESS
    Support the CPG sales team to foster customer success & growth.
    Evaluate customer inventory & turns through the ERP system and customer forecasting and sales reports
    Provide recommendations to enhance customer assortment and productivity.


    VALUE CREATION


    As a vital member of the Grocery Team, I find ways to collaborate with others and lead projects that add value to the business.

    Gather, develop, and disseminate all regular business reporting; lead efforts to automate channel-level sales reporting
    Identify areas of impact that reduce costs and, or drive top-line growth
    Analyze upcoming promotional, seasonal, and ad events and forecast accuracy
    Assess and monitor production output to forecast supply vs. demand gaps and inventory position
    Manage the transition of packaging when new items are launched.

    Work with the team and directly with the customer on inventory levels of finished goods and on-hand packaging to manage the transition.


    WHAT YOU WILL NEED
    4-year bachelor's degree
    4-6

    years experience in strategy, operations, or demand planning (Consumer Packaged Goods preferred, Ahold USA or Kroger/Albertsons experienced strongly preferred)
    Strong business acumen, including an understanding of sales, marketing, business models, unit/ product economics, supply chain, and manufacturing
    Demonstrated ability to adapt in a highly collaborative environment quickly, a team player
    Demonstrated ability to communicate complex topics clearly and concisely to peers and leadership
    Demonstrated ability to lead meetings to drive actions and accountability across cross-functional teams
    Advanced analytical skills; Excel and Customer Specific Data Portals (Ahold/Kroger) a plus
    Experience with Syndicated Data (Nielsen/IRI)
    Demonstrated ability to quickly manipulate large raw data sets to produce reporting that is intuitive and easy to read/understand.
    The ability to interpret trends and insights from a mix of data sets for decision-making and recommendations
    Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
