    The Flowboy / Truck Driver requires knowledge of safely operating and maintaining truck and trailer.

    We require that they be committed to the total Ajax team effort by contributing to the proper completion of the work as directed by Project Superintendent / Foreman.

    Position Description
    The lowboy driver is responsible for the safe and proper operation and maintenance of the truck and trailer.

    We are currently seeking an experienced Lowboy Driver to join our team.

    The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of driving experience, a clean driving record, and hands-on experience transporting construction equipment, including proper loading, securing, and tie-down procedures.

    Flexibility is important, as this role may require early morning starts, occasional late nights, and weekend work.
    Candidates must be able to pass FMCSA guidelines and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and professionalism.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Major duties include the following:

    • Proper maintenance and repairs of the truck and trailer, including tire pressure, fluid levels,
    lights, etc.

    • Proper loading, securing and unloading of equipment
    • Communicates with shop and keeps them informed of equipment problems or schedule delays.
    • Assists foreman as directed on the job.
    • Checks and fuels all trucks in the yard as directed by the Equipment Manager.

    SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL

    • Abide by all rules listed in the Ajax employee handbook.
    • Ensure all Ajax quality standards are met.
    • Ensure adherence to all federal, state, local and Ajax Safety and Environmental Rules and Regulations.

    TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Field operation - Work is exposed to outdoor conditions, noise and heat.
    • Ability to work days, nights and weekends as required.

    TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    The essential functions of this position includes sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, bending, trunk movements, lifting minimum of 45 lbs., carrying, pushing/pulling, low level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking.

    • Ability to work well with subordinates, peers and supervisors

    ATTENDANCE AND RELIABILITY

    • Reporting to work on time, after lunch, and not leaving early unless authorized.
    • Always providing proper notification and advance notice of absence.
    • Not abusing or taking advantage of personal days off.
    • Performing such other duties as may be required.
