    Salary: $88,000 - $101,000 annually

    POSITION DESCRIPTION
    As an Account Manager at Milepost, you will serve as the strategic lead and trusted advisor on client accounts. A key part of your role will be to identify and propose new work with existing and adjacent clients. You will anticipate needs, read between the lines, seek to understand, and make recommendations that best serve our clients.

    As the primary point of contact for your clients, you will become an expert on their personal and professional preferences, needs, strengths, weaknesses, career aspirations, and how they fit into the goals of their company. You will understand and represent their context, opinions, and values – and will use this understanding to provide a lens that ensures all projects and deliverables meet client objectives and are executed according to client standards.

    Outside of client work, this position will identify strategic relationship building opportunities, attend and present at conferences, and ideate thought leadership concepts for build out by our marketing team to grow Milepost's market presence. The ratio of client work to internal initiatives for this role is 4:1.

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work closely with clients to understand context, anticipate and identify emerging needs, and recommend work to fulfill those needs.
    • Develop the strategy and direction for activities: cast a vision, form concepts, and clearly communicate the vision to clients and internal teams for sign-off and delivery.
    • Manage, delegate, and actively contribute to project work, tasks, and deliverables.
    • Develop a trusted relationship with clients to fully understand their business strategy, political nuance, and success metrics.
    • Ensure project strategies and deliverables align with client needs and objectives.
    • Assess, train, manage, and motivate internal team members to optimize productivity and promote professional growth.
    • Understand, advocate for, and represent the client's opinions, values, needs, and objectives in all interactions.
    • Advise internal/external partners on program design, deployment, and management.
    • Review and provide feedback on internal deliverables to ensure client standards and change requests have been met.
    • Manage and provide staff augmentation for program implementation and support.
    • Facilitate impactful meetings and workshops.
    • Meaningfully engage and manage stakeholders and project partners.
    • Develop and provide input on budgets, SOWs/POs, and schedules.
    • Estimate and communicate anticipated hours each month, ensuring there is enough work for team members to hit their billable hours targets.
    • Manage and track monthly spend by team member, including time and materials, PO spend and burn rate, passthrough costs, and whether projected hours are being hit.
    • Identify relationship building opportunities, ideate thought leadership concepts, and find opportunities to grow Milepost's market presence.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
    • 3+ years of relevant industry experience (government program administration, grants, electric utilities, clean energy technologies, public benefit, etc.)
    • Demonstrable track record of successfully identifying and delivering new client opportunities
    • Adept in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
    • Professional experience in the utility or energy sector preferred

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Most work activities are conducted at a desk on a computer
    • Occasional overnight travel to other cities and states is required
    • Travel to client locations may or may not have handicap accessible options
    • Routine lifting and carrying of equipment and luggage necessary to conduct business
