    Lockheed Martin is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join our creative team of engineers in Dallas, Texas.

    The candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in some of Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control's highly innovative and ingenious solutions to complex technical problems facing the aerospace industry.

    This exciting work will include performing research, design, analysis, evaluation, and testing in support of various
    program areas. This specific position is related to
    naturally occurring and induced environments for
    development and production of new aerospace
    products and technologies.
    The candidate for this Environmental Engineer
    position will be responsible for supporting a Tactical
    Strike missile program and which will include the

    following responsibilities:
    environmental design,

    analysis, and testing of assembly systems,
    subsystems, and components of missile systems,
    performing preliminary and final definition or
    determination of environmental requirements,

    allocation of system level environmental requirements to lower levels of assembly, as well as preparing for and overseeing a variety of test types (Development, Design Verification, Flight Worthiness, Qualification, and screening) at the component, subsystem and system level of assembly, and involved in development of product specifications and supplier environments testing and planning support.

    The engineer will also be involved in development and release of engineering drawings, documents, and
    nature and operation of natural phenomena in a
    particular field, using the scientific methods. Develops theories for understanding, characterizing and organizing natural phenomena into a systematic and meaningful pattern for the benefit of project
    advancement and emerging technologies. May
    participate in intellectual property evaluations and
    development of patent applications. May coordinate
    interdepartmental activities and research efforts.
    Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a
    related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined
    education, with 14 years or more of professional
    experience; or 12 years of professional experience
    with a related Masters degree. Considered an expert,
    authority in discipline.

    The position requires strong technical skills in a fast-paced environment. Modeling of the environmental excitations and response is to be accomplished using standardized processes and tools.

    Tasks will also include preparing test plan, procedures, and reports and providing support for all forms of testing of systems, subsystems, and components.

    As part of test programs, the candidate must be familiar with instrumentation types, characteristics and
    capabilities and be able to assemble an
    instrumentation suite for off-site test support, then
    conduct the test effort, capture and reduce/analyze
    measurements made during the tests

    In addition, the candidate will provide technical

    documentation and input to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present the analyzed data to program and customer personnel at technical interchange meetings and design reviews.

    Candidate will perform analyses using standardized or custom software tools, and coordinate requirements and design solutions with program personnel, coordinating particularly with Loads & Dynamics and Stress personnel.

    Responsible for research and development of viable environmental solutions for systems and components. Experienced with relevant analytic tools for environmental analysis and test. Associated efforts include supporting telecoms, review of design package information, supplier test plans and

    test results, supporting technical interchange meetings

    Basic Qualifications:
    Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability
    to obtain at a Department of Defense SECRET
    Clearance.
    Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in
    Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering (or
    related field)
    Experience with the environmental testing

    Desired Skills:
    MS or Ph.
    D. degree from an accredited college in
    Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or
    related field, with related

    environmental engineering experience in the aerospace industry.
    Experience with environmental science requirements
    from a governing agency.
    Experience understanding, use and interpretation of
    the primary measurement quantities of dynamic

    environments (for example:
    PSDs, SRSs, SPLs).
    Experience with the environmental testing, including
    test fixture design, instrumentation for excitations and
    responses, control schemes, and data generation and
    processing.
    Experience with Matlab.
    Experience assembling an instrumentation suite and
    conducting off-site test support.
    Experience supporting failure investigations.

    Security Clearance Statement:
    This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

    The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

    Work Schedules:
    Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.

    Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.


    These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.


    Schedule for this Position:
    4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
