    Summary



    This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Electro-Machinist Division WCF. As an Intermediate Electro-Machinist, you will be providing non-supervisory work involving the dismantling, repairing, relocating, modifying, maintaining, aligning, and installing fixed and semi-fixed production printing equipment, machinery and systems used in the printing, verifying, and packaging of US Currency.



    Duties


    The following are the duties of this position at the WE-2. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

    As an Intermediate Electro-Machinist, you will:

    • Install, repair, modify, fabricate, and replace a range of computerized, electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical, industrial printing processes and equipment components as well as other complex and sophisticated related equipment.
    • Perform regularly schedule preventive maintenance is performed at the convenience of the Office of Currency Manufacturing.
    • Locate, install, assemble, and otherwise prepare all production and production related equipment that comes into the facility, often in conjunction with factory installation technicians.
    • Relocate, or modify equipment. It is often necessary for the Electro-Machinist to dismantle and then reassemble the production and production related equipment.
    • Uses a variety of tools and diagnostic equipment to resolve product line equipment and manufacturing problems.
