    Job Summary:

    The Production Manager is responsible for achieving site goals including employee safety, product quality and cost, schedule adherence and on-time delivery to customer demand. This is a hands-on position that is responsible for maximizing daily production and driving efficiency to improve profitability. This position plays an integral part in plant operations, special projects, and has responsibility for developing and maintaining motivated staff and for developing and achieving budgetary and production targets.

    The Production Manager must ensure all Focus Factory team members adhere to all Ametek policies and procedures including, but not limited to, ISO, Safety and Human Resources.

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the production process and influence all relevant support functions to achieve customer fulfillment expectations.
  • Responsible for achievement of KPI's related to shipping volume targets, on-time delivery, past due backlog, customer lead time, efficiency, utilization, and overtime premium expense.
  • Generate current month and future months head count requirements plan.
  • Quantify current state product cost standards with goals / plans for continuous improvement.
  • Rectify product cost variances to target (root cause and corrective actions).
  • Drive resolution to material availability issues with planning and supply chain resources.
  • Inventory handling/management and accuracy within the Focus Factory.
  • Timely and thorough implementation of engineering changes (ECOs). Active partner in the creation and review of ECOs when needed.
  • Implement and drive continuous improvement activities through implementation of change management process and best practices.
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
  • Provide direction, development and leadership to production Leads
  • Develop and track improvement in reduction of planned direct labor hours to earned hours.
  • Coordinate, set up, and implement standard operating procedure for all production operations.
  • Establish and monitor overall performance for product and quality standards.
  • Implements and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
  • Ensure complete compliance to prescribed QMS, GMP's and 6S processes.
  • Work with manufacturing engineers in setting / delivering labor and production quality standards
  • Ensure implementation and compliance of health and safety protocols.
  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a relevant discipline such as Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • 10+ years' experience in production with a minimum 5 years at a management level.
  • Experience in production management for mechanical assembly / final electrical and functional test
  • Proven track record in managing a production line for electro-mechanical products in an ERP managed environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget
  • Hands-on individual driven towards team success with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to create / manage budget, driving appropriate cost control / reduction activities
  • Knowledge of supply chain including MRP and Master Scheduling skills
  • Leadership skill to lead, motivate employees to keep operations running smoothly, driving year-on-year improvement in performance metrics
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with employees, other department managers and senior management
  • Strong computer literacy in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.) and ERP systems

  • Experience in production management for PCBA manufacturing
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing and ISO quality systems
