    The Media Arts, Sciences, and Studies Department is seeking classroom assistants. General duties may include:
    • Checking out and returning equipment to and from Park Portable Equipment Center.
    • Assisting with technology required for online delivery of course content (web streaming, Zoom meetings, recording of demonstrations, and maintenance of class Canvas sites.
    • Assisting with safety protocols for safe in-person teaching, including setup of classroom spaces, disinfection of equipment, etc.
    Job Qualifications/Requirements

    Specific areas and related requirements are as follows:
    • Media Production Assistant
      • Assistants needed with working knowledge of one or more of the following: audio production; studio facilities/software; photography; cinema and/or field-production (cameras, editing software, and associated equipment).
      • Assistants for these classes will help faculty members guide students with production processes including pre-production, production, and post-production.
    • Cinema Studies Assistant
      • Serve as a Group Tutor for various sections of the Film Aesthetics & Analysis course in Communications. Facilitate regular small group sessions in defined subject areas of expertise. Develop materials that will enhance peer-to-peer learning during group sessions. Assistants will be expected to meet with faculty members teaching the course in order to more effectively prepare for the group tutoring sessions.
      • Group tutors must attend required training sessions.
    • Photo Gallery Assistant
      • Assist in the Park photography gallery. Help prepare and hang exhibitions of student and artists' images. Maintain photo area in an orderly state. Periodically organize and maintain gallery preparation room.
    • Tutors
      • Will meet with students taking classes in the Writing for Film, Television, and Emerging Media program who are in need of assistance with their work. The tutors primarily help students with their creative writing assignments by reinforcing screenwriting concepts and providing notes and feedback on their writing.
    • Projectionist
      • Assist the professor with the technical presentation of multimedia components of their lecture materials. Must work closely with the professor to determine the running order of the various materials. These may consist of DVD's, Blu-Ray's, videotapes, audio recordings, material on websites, PowerPoint presentations, 16mm films, etc.
    All Positions
    • It is helpful or preferred if you have taken the class in which you'd like to assist, although not a requirement.
    Hours/week: 3-4 or varied

    Hourly rate: $14.20/hour
