Description
Position Summary:
In an outpatient clinical setting, this position involves providing initial patient triage, registration, and administrative services under general supervision. The role also includes assisting with direct patient care and performing specialized medical procedures as per established clinical protocol.
Qualifications:
A. Education:
Completion of a medical assistant program (Associate Degree/ Ladder Curriculum) is required, along with high school graduation or equivalent. Working towards meeting the qualifications for American Medical Technologists Registry is essential.
B. Training and Experience:
Current BLS certification is a must. While bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) are desirable, they are not mandatory.
Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
A. Ability to work under stressful conditions.
B. Possible exposure to hazardous substances, cytoxic agents, and disease.
C. Varied work hours may be required.
D. Involves heavy lifting such as assisting with patient lifting on a daily basis.
E. Prolonged periods of standing and walking are expected.
