    Responsible for pharmaceutical sourcing, analytics, and pharmaceutical vendor management.

    The Pharmacy Sourcing Specialist will collaborate with the pharmacy team, corporate supply chain, other departments within the organization and pharmaceutical and supply vendors to facilitate sourcing of medications.

    The ability to effectively prioritize tasks and ensure completion of daily responsibilities with a high degree of autonomy is required.

    The Pharmacy Sourcing Specialist must also be able to adjust rapidly based on the needs of the organization.

    Responsibilities

    • 1. Accounts Payable (AP) Coordination ? Coordinate with Accounts Payable (AP) to facilitate timely processing of invoices from assigned vendors, to minimize any late charges incurred and to eliminate credit holds. ? Resolve identified invoicing problems. ? Ensure the ratio of open invoices to paid invoices for assigned vendors remains at or below the levels set by departmental standards. ? Escalate vendor related issues as needed
    • 2. Receiving Reconciliation ? Oversee the analysis of shrinkage, waste, and diversion. ? Audit carousel receipt reconciliation.
    • 3. Vendor Management ? Manage all aspects of assigned vendor relationships, including service level agreement accountability, contract portfolio management and functions as the vendor?s primary point of contact. ? Escalation and Communication of Service Failures to Procurement Leadership Team. ? Facilitate conversations with assigned vendors to ensure medication access during drug shortages and to minimize shortage impact on patient care. ? Review, edit, process, and submit direct orders for assigned vendors. ? Ensure Credit Rebill and other processes are executed for assigned vendors. ? Serve as the escalation contact for pharmacy procurement specialist during instances of service interruption or downtime for the assigned vendor. Manage downtime processes and coordinate resolution steps as required.
    • 4. Facilitate changes to wholesaler ordering templates used by clinics and off-site locations to order medications and supplies, as needed.
    • 5. Pharmaceutical Recall Management ? Oversee the evaluation, communication, and completion of any medication or pharmacy related supply recall.
    • 6. Contribute to departmental cost-reduction/revenue generation projects.
    • 7. Collaborate on creation of departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs) as assigned.
    • 8. Effectively demonstrate the principles and conduct consistent with a High Reliability Organization.
    Qualifications

    EDUCATION
    High school diploma or equivalent.

    EXPERIENCE
    3 years' experience in pharmaceutical procurement is required.

    LICENSURE
    Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT), certification by the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

    SPECIAL SKILLS
    Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentation). Ability to work independently with effective time management skills. Strong project management and problem-solving skills desired. Ability to function with multi-disciplinary teams. Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
