    Sous Chef Opportunity

    We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated sous chef to join our team at a highly acclaimed restaurant located in The Whitby Hotel. As a hands-on sous chef, you will play a crucial role in leading our team of culinary professionals in delivering exceptional dining experiences. Our establishment prides itself on using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and employing modern French culinary techniques.

    We are looking for a well-rounded individual with a deep understanding of cuisine who can effectively manage kitchen operations and demonstrate proficiency in computer software like Word and Excel. The ability to seamlessly transition between tasks is a key attribute we value. From managing orders at the pass to assisting with event preparations and handling administrative duties, versatility is essential.

    Your expertise, experience, and composure will ensure that you maintain focus and positivity amidst the challenges and pressures of the role. A mature and level-headed approach is essential for success.

    Requirements:

    • Prior experience as a sous chef in a high-volume kitchen environment
    • Demonstrated ability to uphold high food quality standards
    • A leadership mentality with a focus on team development and support
    • Passion for fostering a positive work culture and guest experience
    • Familiarity with cost control practices and health & safety regulations
    • Certification in Health Department protection

    Compensation:

    • Salary range: $62,000 - $65,000 annually

    Shifts:

    • Flexible shifts covering days, evenings, mornings, and nights
    • Minimum of 10 hours per day

    Work Schedule:

    • Five days a week including weekends

    Experience:

    • Fine Dining: 2 years (Preferred)
    • High-Volume: 1 year (Preferred)
    • Sous Chef: 2 years (Preferred)
    • Culinary: 5 years (Preferred)
