- Assist with all customer service needs before, during and after each show, including: directions, instructions, information, escorts and medical.
- Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
- Circulate among guests and/or employees to preserve safety, order and to protect the venue property.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, guests, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security and safety of the premises.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Warn persons of rule infractions or violations and apprehend or evict violators from premises.
- Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Complete other duties as assigned
- Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment and enforcement procedures
- Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance; ability to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Acute sense of judgment, tact and diplomacy
- Strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs
- 2 years of experience as a Security Guard or similar role
- Regularly required to talk, listen and see
- Prolonged use hands/fingers
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- Prolonged periods standing, walking, and climbing stairs
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Description
The Orpheum Theater is seeking is seeking an Event Monitor. This person will guard, patrol, and/or monitor the venue premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules. They will assist with all customer service needs before, during and after each show, including: directions, instructions, information, escorts and medical.
