    The Firestone Family began farming in the Vancouver, WA, in 1896. We are a fully integrated grower processing operation for domestic and export fruit customers. Our fruit is harvested at the peak of ripeness, processed in our state-of-the art facility, and packed for shipment, ensuring quality in every product from the farm where it was grown to the finished bag in the consumer's freezer.

    The Maintenance Manager role contributes to the success of Firestone Pacific Foods by providing maintenance leadership for plant operation. Responsibilities include cost efficiency, continuous improvement on processes, service, and safety for the plant. This position is responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability and our Customer.     Responsibilities:

    • Ensure equipment reliability to maximize production line productivity
      Implement process enhancements to improve package and flavor changeover efficiency
    • Conduct regular reviews of the facility's Pre-requisite Programs, GMP Compliance and Sanitation Compliance.
    • Monitor the performance and competencies of plant maintenance staff and provide leadership, coaching, discipline and development as needed
    • Recognize areas for improvement, update practices and policies regarding employee safety, quality, cost and efficiency.
    • Train, and empower team to regularly audit documentation.
    • Ability to provide written and verbal direction of team.
    • Utilize visual factory concepts to maximize asset utilization and plant performance
    • Track standard manufacturing metrics and prioritize plant maintenance opportunities
    • Ensure proper utilization of Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
    • Deploy strategies in reliability fundamentals that develop technician competencies
    • Develop a team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
    • Deliver effective change leadership while driving business changes and minimizing people impact
    • Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to assist the team to solve operational issues
    • Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for front-line hourly personnel
    • Motivate team members to achieve plan goals
    • Regular and predictable attendance at the worksite
    • Maintain a safe work environment and support all plant safety programs
    • This role requires regular presence on the plant floor
    • This role may operate forklift and manufacturing equipment occasionally
    • This role may require off-shift and weekend work
    • Ensure the safe, efficient and effective use of all craft resources.
    • Monitor subordinates for compliance to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Health & Environmental Control (DHEC), National Electrical Code (NEC), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations.
    • Ability to prioritize critical work to ensure operations is not impacted by unplanned downtime
    Essential Job Requirement:
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Preferably in engineering, business, operations management, or similar field
    • Lean Six Sigma Experience preferred, demonstrated by successful completion of a major improvement project
    • A minimum of 5 years of operations maintenance experience preferred
    • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
    • Mechanical experience maintaining equipment
    • Understanding of PLC programming preferred
    • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications
    • Knowledge of refrigeration systems (ammonia,CO2)
    • Knowledge of electrical systems and schematics.
    • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
    • Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring others
    • Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team-building skills
    • Ammonia RETA CIRO Certification is a plus
    • Bilingual – English/Spanish, a plus.
    • Proficient in looking at reports and taking appropriate actions based on information received.
