QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
(Qualifications which are essential to the position)
*High School Diploma or equivalent
*Ability to proficiently read, speak and write both Spanish and English
*Grade 'B' or better on
District administered Thurstone Employment Test
*Keyboarding accuracy at 50 wpm on
district administered test
*Ability to operate PowerSchool, Zonar or Versatrans software
*Computer skills/word processing, database and/or spreadsheet experience using Word, Excel & Outlook
*Experience with routing and planning school bus routes
*Experience using two-way radio between buses and office
*Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and many interruptions
*Proficient in verbal and written skills including excellent working knowledge of correct grammar spelling and English usage
*Ability to exercise sound judgment to organize, set priorities and coordinate office activities and initiate required tasks
*Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff, students and patrons
*Demonstrated ability to independently learn new operations, procedures and processes
*Demonstrated ability to work under pressure
*Must work within designated bounds of authority and confidentiality
*Demonstrated punctuality and an excellent work attendance record
*Ability to establish and maintain professional, cooperative working relationships
*Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of school records
DESIRED:
*AA Degree or BA Degree
*Knowledge of school bus transportation and district boundary system
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides support to department in completing clerical duties, including typing, filing, phones and radio dispatching to the buses on the road.
Processes transportation requests for both Special Education and 504 students, including bus assignments, routing and other related tasks. Processes and maintains transportation health alerts for all students in the district. Completes other duties as assigned.Letters and applications received after closing date will only be accepted and screened if the position remains unfilled
