    The role of the part-time, seasonal One-on-One Aide is to provide additional guidance and support to a young camper within a daycare/day camp environment. The goal of this position is to help the child successfully engage with their peers in a group environment, follow class routines, manage transitions, and remain safe.

    Key areas of responsibility include:
    • Facilitate positive prosocial interactions between the child and their peers.
    • Promote cooperative and interactive play skills.
    • Model language to help them communicate their wants and needs.
    • Redirect physical behaviors.
    • Help them identify and label their emotions.
    • Help them regulate their body.
    • Aide in creating smooth transitions from one activity to another.
    • Collaborate with staff to implement accommodation recommended by outside professionals.
    • Document as necessary.
    • Communicate with parents.
    Days/Hours:Monday, Wednesday, Friday

    June 10, 2024 through August 16, 2024

    Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm

    Break - 1:00pm-3:00pm

    Requirements:
    • Experience working with young children in a school or camp setting.
    • Knowledge of positive behavior supports.
    • Experience working in a team environment.
    • A general understanding of child development, sensory processing, and regulation.
    • Strong communication skills.
    Essential Job Duties(Physical Requirements):
    • Must be able to lift and move with children (up to 40lbs.)
    • Must demonstrate physical stamina and agility including the ability to be mobile for long periods throughout the day.
    • Demonstrated ability to move from sitting (on chair or floor) to standing position easily and quickly;
    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to run and be actively engaged physically with children.
    • Must be able to respond to emergency situations, moving from sitting to standing, carrying children up to 40lbs and running quickly and effectively.
    • Must be able to supervise children by sight and sound.
