Job summary
The Detention Commander plans, coordinates and supervises the operations and staff at the detention facility. Performs supervisory work in detention to ensure safety of citizens staff and inmates.Responsibilities
- Supervises operation of detention facility; interviews recommends hiring of staff; plans schedules assigns work to staff establishes priorities instructs trains in correct methods checks approves work overtime time sheets sick/vacation leave reviews evaluates employee performance.
- Inspects monitors subordinates' work to ensure operations are in compliance with local state federal laws departmental policies procedures.
