    Description

    BASIC FUNCTIONS:

    Directs the overall functions of the School of Business Technology.

    SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY:

    N/A

    NATURE AND SCOPE:

    Work with faculty, staff and students to deliver quality solutions and to maximize the use of technology in the teaching and learning experience in the Howard University School of Business community.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Develop and maintain the HUSB's Technology Strategic Plan.
    • Administer all technology related operations in the HUSB.
    • Stay abreast of changes in technology and provide recommendations to the Office of the Dean to enhance technology in the HUSB.
    • Develop policy and procedures to safeguard technology related equipment in the HUSB.
    • Develop policy and procedures to ensure that technology related statistics are collected and maintained in the HUSB.
    • Develop policy and procedures to ensure efficient operation of computer labs.
    • Provide monthly statistics and other special reports when required.
    • Perform functions as required to drive the overall effectiveness of technology in the HUSB.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    CORE COMPETENCIES:
    • Excellent organizational skills, oral and written communication skills, and management/administrative skills.
    • Proficient in the use of MS Office, Windows, TSO/ISP, network management, website development and other common computer software packages.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious work relations with faculty, staff, university officials, and the general public.
    • Ability to collect and disseminate accurate information in a professional manner.
    • Capability of handling multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    Bachelors degree in Information Systems or technology related field. At least five years of computer related experience with a minimum of two years in a management position.
