- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage and maintain environmental permits, including air quality, waste management, and water discharge.
- Conduct regular safety and environmental audits, both internally and in coordination with external agencies.
- Lead investigations of any accidents or incidents, ensuring thorough documentation and implementation of corrective actions.
- Oversee the safety operations for mobile heavy equipment and furnace operations.
- Train and mentor staff on EHS policies, practices, and procedures to promote a culture of safety across the organization.
- Coordinate with various departments to implement sustainability initiatives and environmental projects.
- Prepare and present reports on the status of EHS compliance and initiatives to senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Stay updated on new legislation and advancements in the field of environmental health and safety, adapting policies as necessary to maintain compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing or industrial setting, preferably with exposure to furnace operations and heavy equipment.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and permit requirements.
- Proven track record of successfully managing audits and compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred.
- Performs jobs under varying conditions (dust, oil, grease, hot and humid temperatures, fumes, noise, etc.)
- Ability to lift 50lbs, Floor to waist, Waist to shoulder. Overhead, Carry 20 feet
- Wears proper PPE in the manufacturing area (shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection)
