    Position Summary:

    The Registered Dental Hygienist provides ongoing preventive oral care through conventional periodontal therapy, non-surgical periodontal therapy to prevent periodontal gum disease.

    Full-time Hygienist: Responsibilities:
    • Perform clinical hygiene functions including, but not limited to: exposing/evaluating x-rays, oral cancer screening, prophylaxis, non-surgical periodontal therapy, fluoride treatments
    • Educates patients on the importance of preventive care, the disease process and the role of bacteria, provides appropriate instructions on home care
    • Maintain accurate complete digital documentation
    • Sterilizes dental instruments properly
    • Maintains patient confidentiality and takes every precaution to secure electronic Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA
    • Other related duties as assigned
    Full-time Surgical Hygienist: Responsibilities:
    • Complete New Patient exams, including taking a 3d X-ray scan, a full perio evaluation, and photos
    • Write all New Patient letters and meds consults
    • See post-op, 3D X-ray scans, abutments, Emergency patients, etc.
    • Review post-op instructions with surgery patients and driver and answer any questions
    • Anesthetize surgery patients as much as possible, and administer & monitor nitrous oxide
    • Scale during Perio surgery or other surgeries as the doctors deem necessary
    • Review & prepare huddle the morning of
    • Assist lab assistant when necessary.
    • Enter treatment plans (assistant enters treatment plans for New Patients)
    Requirements

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
    • Professional and friendly with great chair side manner
    • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and changes
    • Knowledge of cross contamination and how to prevent it
    • Maintain continuing education courses
    Education/ Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene
    Special Requirements/ Certifications/ Licenses
    • CPR and First Aid certificate
    • Registered Dental Hygienist License
    • Local anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration licensure
    • Licenses required for this position must be kept current, valid, and in good standing with the presiding entity.
