    Position Summary & Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    This position coordinates Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) in adult correctional facilities statewide. This includes serving as a liaison among all involved parties, overseeing staff training, tracking program recipients and outcomes, and preparing any required documentation/reports.

    Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

    This position coordinates the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program in adult correctional facilities statewide.

    Maintains regular, purposeful communication and collaboration among all involved parties, including but not limited to: substance use program providers, contract medical providers, Reentry staff, Parole staff, community treatment providers, and KDOC administration. Schedules and coordinates meetings, prepares and sends out correspondence as needed, and establishes positive, productive working relationships. Works closely with facility release planners and Parole to ensure continuity of care and a smooth transition from facility to community. Assists in strengthening existing community partnerships and identifying new ones.

    Monitors and tracks MAT referrals, recipients, and program outcomes. Manages and tracks inventory for the naloxone dispensing program. Ensures that this information is accurately entered into required databases and systems in a timely manner.

    Develops and implements MAT training for KDOC and contract staff, including updates and booster sessions as needed. Stays up to date on research and best practices in regard to MAT and substance use disorder programming. Answers relevant inquiries and maintains current educational materials for disbursement as needed.

    Prepares and distributes documentation and reports as required and requested.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications :

    One year of experience working in the field of substance use disorder.

    One year of experience coordinating a program or multidisciplinary team.

    Preferred Qualifications :

    Licensed Addictions Counselor in the State of Kansas.

    Working knowledge of Medication Assisted Treatment and Medication for Opioid Use Disorder.

    Two years experience working in a corrections setting.

    Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

    Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.

    Working knowledge of evidence based principles for correctional programming.

    Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Must pass a criminal history records check.
