    Position Summary

    The Associate Director of Philanthropy is a pivotal role within STRUT CARES, Elephant Cooperation, and the Sonance Foundation, responsible for advancing the philanthropic mission and vision of these organizations. This role involves strategic planning, donor engagement, and management of philanthropic initiatives to maximize impact in alignment with the organizations' core values and objectives.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    The Associate Director will play a pivotal role in ensuring the ongoing success and expansion of Elephant Cooperation and STRUT CARES. They will be responsible for a diverse set of tasks ranging from fundraising and event management to governance, grant management, and oversight of our boards and advisory groups.

    Essential Job Functions

    Fundraising and Event Management

    Support the VP of Development regard the planning and execution of fundraising events, ensuring they reflect the organization's goals and objectives.

    Assist the VP of Development to identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and partners.

    Maintain and expand the donor database, ensuring accurate and timely reports and communication.

    Provide KPIs and ROI of each event.

    Reporting & Governance

    Work closely with the President and Board to define and implement governance policies.

    Ensure the organization remains compliant with all regulations and standards.

    Manage donation platforms and work with finance department for EOY audits.

    Oversee the preparation of reports, financial statements, and other documentation for the Board and stakeholders.

    Manage EOY donor gifts and work with Communications team with donor messaging.

    Grant Management:

    Research and vet partner grant requests in line with the organization's mission.

    Work with our Grant Agency to write compelling grant proposals and oversee the submission process.

    Track and report on grant performance from partners, ensuring all requirements and deadlines are met.

    Impact Project Oversight:

    Supervise and collaborate with the Africa Program team to ensure projects align with the organization's goals.

    Monitor and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of projects in locally and globally.

    Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, governments, and partner organizations both locally and globally.

    Requirements

    Bachelor's degree, with Master's degree preferred.

    3-5 years previous experience in foundation, corporate and government fundraising, grant management, and/or related areas.

    Extensive knowledge of foundation and corporate foundation/philanthropy funding communities.

    Proven track record in relationship-building, donor cultivation and securing support from corporate and foundation sources.

    Excellent writing, interpersonal and organizational skills.

    Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities simultaneously and meet grant and reporting deadlines.

    Ability to analyze and interpret financial data with the facility to understand complex budgeting models.

    Proficient in the use of Salesforce, Microsoft office and Excel

    Confidentiality is a MUST.

    Compensation Range

    $85,000 - $120,000

    The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held.
