    About Us:

    Commerce Packaging Corp, located in South Norwalk, CT, is a small, family owned and operated business with 70 years of experience specializing in the design and manufacturing of custom crates and containers for our commercial, industrial, and military customers.

    The Position:

    In this newly created role, the Operations Coordinator will be responsible for managing, completing, and delegating the daily activities of the business operations as directed by the Chief Operation Officer. On behalf of the COO, the Operations Coordinator will provide excellent operations, business management and administrative support, ensuring the smooth functioning of the business.

    In this vital role you will:

    • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the business and maintain effective working relationships with the COO and other members of the organization
    • Interface with multiple departments including Purchasing, Sales, Production, Shipping and Receiving, and Quality. Assist with the management of the departments daily operational activities.
    • Observe, review, and analyze processes to identify inefficiencies and areas where improvements could be made and offer solutions where appropriate
    • Communicate on behalf of the COO to internal and external contacts as directed
    • Collect data and maintain accurate company or departmental records
    • Create systems to track various related projects as defined by the COO and take proactive steps to ensure their accomplishment in a timely and efficient fashion
    • Handle highly confidential, proprietary, and time-sensitive materials in a professional and discreet manner

    Our ideal candidate will have:

    • Experience working within a small business environment
    • Ideally, an Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field. *Preferred but not required.
    • A strong interest in and desire to learn the operational side of a business
    • A passion for wearing many hats and having exposure to multiple facets of an organization
    • A great personality, confidence, and maturity
    • Excellent organization skills with an aptitude for problem-solving
    • The ability to take direction well yet can be proactive, prioritize tasks, and work independently
    • Due to the confidentiality needed for some of our customers, US Citizenship is required

    *Our job titles may span more than one career level. The targeted base pay for this role is $60-70k. The actual pay is dependent on other factors such as training, skills, work experience and business needs. The target pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
