    Job Description

    We are seeking a talented Lead Animator to join our team in NYC. As a fast-growing section of CNBC, devoted to aspirational content about entrepreneurship, leadership, careers, and money, CNBC Make It requires an expert in animation and motion graphics.

    Responsibilities:

    • Create original and aesthetically pleasing designs, animations, and title sequences for short-form documentaries, social media platforms, interviews, and explainers.
    • Collaborate with producers to create animations for original videos.
    • Design and update motion graphics templates (mogrts).
    • Maintain brand guidelines across video and graphic design initiatives.
    • Support and mentor other animators.
    • Lead strategy and execute social media assets like thumbnails.
    • Animate charts, maps, and documents.
    • Design promotional graphics for the Smarter by CNBC Make It online courses initiative.
    • Bring titles and text to life in a highly visual and impactful way.

    Requirements:

    • 5+ years of experience producing animations.
    • Expert understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (specifically After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop) and applicable plugins.
    • Ability to create error-free 2D/3D animations and motion graphics from a script.
    • A portfolio or reel showcasing expertise in animation, graphic design, motion design, typography, illustration, and storytelling across various platforms.
    • Strong leadership skills, including motivating others, effective delegation, and delivering and receiving feedback gracefully.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
    • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

    What We Offer:

    • Salary range: $95,000-$120,000.
