- Monitoring post-operative patients' levels of consciousness during recovery from anesthesia.
- Measuring and recording patients' vital signs.
- Closely observing patients for signs of side effects of anesthesia medication.
- Treating pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia.
- Updating charts, patient files, and medical records.
- Collaborating with the medical team on post-operative patient care and facilitating timely specialized interventions.
- Providing comfort and reassurance to distressed post-operative patients and concerned family members.
- Educating patients and their families on post-surgery care, as well as answering questions.
- 13 week contract - 40 hours
- Rotating Shifts: 10 hour shifts - start times subject to flex based on department need
- Call: based on department needs but usually 1-2 shifts during the week days and every 4th weekend, holidays as needed
- Must have experience with pre/post in addition to phase one recovery, position with pre/post for GI, Cath lab, OR and IR
- May need to float to sites within 40 miles if needed 160.2%, Vacancy Rate - 50%
- BLS and ACLS
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong technical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Passionate about patient care
- Requires a minimum of two years of current RN PACU experience.
- Graduate from a fully accredited RN program
- Active unencumbered RN Wisconsin state license
- One year of Epic experience
- COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
- Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
- Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
- Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
- Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
- A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
