Job summary
This position is expected to function independently or with minimal supervision in all laboratory areas and duties including but not limited to performing phlebotomy specimen processing and clerical duties all of which are to be performed in a timely and efficient manner.Responsibilities
- Performs Start duties prior to opening Lab
- Adds tests for add-ons handles recollects or Properly charges STATs to HMO's Copies of insurance cards Uses proper stamps on orders such as FROZEN LabCorp Quest Prints daily logs Petty Cash Faxes reports from previous day Handling of drug screens collections Quotes lab prices Making deposits Print labels for requisitions and specimens Properly obtains ABN forms for Medicare patients Obtains orders from Intergy or patients Obtains and uses valid diagnosis codes Properly identification of patients Collects any monies from patients issue receipts Challenges ambiguous orders handles according to protocol taking takes verbal orders Verify patient insurance information Provide services for patients doctors offices such as lab results Directs incoming faxes correct personnel Answers phone assists callers properly transfers calls Calls faxes panic stat results appropriate provider per written protocol Quantity/Timeliness work that produces optimal productivity Performing tasks with minimal errors Understands must know how perform assigned tasks Ability master understand new work routines this area Degree willingness put forth performing these tasks.
