    Evenings and weekends occasionally


    Position Summary:


    The Director of Operations is a key leadership position within The Moore Wright Group, responsible for overseeing and optimizing the organization's operational infrastructure to support its mission and strategic objectives.

    Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Operations provides strategic direction, leadership, and management oversight across various operational areas, including technology, facilities, warehouse and logistics including disaster relief, and general administration.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Strategic Operations Leadership:


    Provide strategic direction and leadership in the development and implementation of organizational policies, procedures, and systems to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency.

    Collaborate with the Executive Director and senior leadership team to align operational priorities and initiatives with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.

    Ensure organization permanent licensing procedures, safety standards, OSHA regulations, and facility code compliance.


    Training and Development Initiatives:
    Develop training programs on

    Provide workshops and seminars on warehouse management best practices, logistics operations, and disaster preparedness.
    Collaborate with staff and experts to design curriculums tailored to the organization's specific workforce development requirements.


    Program Development and Implementation:
    Manage and lead a team responsible for inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping/receiving activities.
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes, reduce lead times, and enhance overall supply chain performance.
    Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
    Direct the Warehouse and Logistics Academy, providing leadership and guidance to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
    Develop and execute workforce development programs to ensure a skilled and adaptable workforce within the warehouse and logistics department.
    Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other key partners to enhance collaboration and optimize logistics networks.
    Implement and enforce safety protocols and compliance standards within the warehouse and logistics operations.
    Evaluate and select technology solutions to improve warehouse management systems and logistics processes.
    Ensure programs align with the organization's mission, goals, and community needs.
    Collaborate with staff and experts to design curriculums tailored to the organization's specific workforce development requirements.

    Strategic Partnerships, Stakeholder and

    Community Engagement:
    Collaborate with community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders to assess needs and build partnerships.

    Partners with workforce boards

    Organize and participate in community events, workshops, and outreach programs.

    Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and other forums to promote collaboration and exchange best practices with peers and partners.

    Assist in acquisitions and the onboarding of new TMWG properties.

    Works with construction and permitting offices on behalf of the organization


    Monitoring and Evaluation:
    Manage budgetary responsibilities, controlling costs while maintaining high service levels and operational excellence.
    Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in warehouse and logistics functions.
    Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the operations team.
    Communicate regularly with executive leadership, providing updates on warehouse and logistics performance and initiatives.
    Establish metrics and key performance indicators for programs.
    Monitor and evaluate the impact of initiatives and adjust strategies accordingly.
    Manages timelines and deliverables.
    Develops and maintains master files on grants and paperwork connected to programs funded by grants.


    Advocacy and Policy Development:
    With warehouse manager advocates for policies that support logistics and supply chain development.
    Stay informed about relevant legislation and policy changes affecting the community.

    Operational Excellence and Process Improvement:
    Identify opportunities to streamline operational processes, improve efficiency, and enhance organizational effectiveness.
    Develop and implement systems and tools to optimize workflow, increase productivity, and reduce administrative burden.
    Monitor key performance indicators and metrics to evaluate operational performance and make data-driven decisions.

    Supervision and operations team management:
    Provides direct supervision and support for the following roles:

    Warehouse Manager
    Security Guard
    Custodian
    Office Manager
    Properties Manager
    W&L Academy Instructors


    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

    3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit management, operations, or a related field, with a track record of successful leadership and strategic planning.

    Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with staff at all levels.

    Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex issues, develop creative solutions, and drive results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
