- Investigates safety events and reported safety concerns.
- Track deadlines and ensure that required documentation is completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Communicates with patients, staff, and leaders in person, over the phone and via email.
- Assures that programs, initiatives, processes and policies are in compliance with state, federal and other accrediting bodies/regulatory agencies.
- Performs research when requested.
- Appropriately handles requests and queries for information.
- Manages data collection, compiles data and submits accurate data in a timely manner as required by regulatory agencies or as part of any initiative. Creates graphs, tables and other data displays.
- Assists in the implementation of departmental quality and risk initiatives.
- Assists in the implementation of departmental quality initiatives and analysis of outcomes data. Analyzes, shares, and assists with interpretation of outcomes data with appropriate staff, medical staff and customers.
- Assures appropriate level of understanding, awareness and compliance with all applicable Joint Commission, CMS, state and local agency laws, internal/external regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Works in multiple software systems as assigned.
- Serves as chapter leader for designated Joint Commission chapters as assigned by Director of Quality and Risk to include ensuring that all applicable elements of performance are addressed and monitored.

- Demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent computer skills, including the use of Windows, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Word.
- Ability to lead groups in quality/performance improvement initiatives and work with directors/managers to develop quality initiatives.
- Basic analytical knowledge and skill needed to help directors/managers establish ways to measure performance and progress towards desired improvement goals.
- Must be well organized and able to set priorities.
- Must be detail oriented as well as possess excellent communication skills. Discretion and integrity are recognized requirements.
- Minimum associate degree of nursing
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred
- Requires 3-5 years clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting. Prefer at least 1 year of quality experience.
