    Description

Hope For Youth has an opening as a CASAC Therapist This position reports to the Clinical Director. Hope For Youth is a nonprofit organization striving to provide positive outcomes for children, adolescents, and families.

    To be a successful CASAC, you must be ready, willing and able to do the following always:

    1. Knowledge of OASAS 822 regulations and documentation requirements and be able to function within the policies and procedures as outlined in program practice guide and employee manual
    2. Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to screen for substance related issues and determine appropriate level of care
    3. Work within an interdisciplinary team to assist client in their overall functioning and achieve desired outcomes
    4. Conduct Individual, Family and group therapy.
    5. Attend trainings and professional development as assigned
    6. Attend meetings as assigned
    7. Apply agency-identified Evidence Based Interventions best suited to meet the client's needs.
    8. Document, implement and update the treatment and/or individual service plan for clients as assigned.
    9. Perform related and other tasks as required by HFY policy, oversight agency and regulations

    How you will generally spend your time in this job:

    60% Direct client therapeutic contact

    • Complete Comprehensive Assessments on pending clients and determine level of care and clinical recommendations.
    • * Provide individual/family/group therapy.
    • * Create Strength Based Service plans that are based off of assessments which include youth and
    • family participation
    • * Develop and follow up on discharge planning.
    • * Assist youth and family to strategize plans for crisis avoidance.
    • *Collaborate effectively with other members of the interdisciplinary team.

    30% Case documentation, reports, case related meetings

    10% Staff meetings/supervision/training

    Minimum qualifications include:

    1. *Valid New York State CASAC credential required. *High School Diploma required,
    2. LMHC/LMSW/BA/BS preferred.
    3. *1-2 yrs experience working with clients with history of alcohol or substance abuse preferred but will train the right candidate.
    4. Demonstrated computer literacy including Microsoft Office and electronic medical record system, upon hire, 10e11.
    5. Access to a reliable vehicle that can be used on a regular basis for work
    6. Excellent writing skills/time management.
    7. Ability to be flexible with scheduling (work evenings, possible weekends if necessary).
    8. Responding to all calls/emergencies via agency-provided mobile phone and/or via internet technologies
    9. Physical Requirements: read/write reports and log entries, walking/standing for prolonged periods, bending/stooping, kneeling/squatting, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, repetitive wrist/finger movements, driving
