As the "face of Airgas," the Local Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck.
The Local Delivery Driver loads, unloads, delivers, and returns compressed gas cylinders while frequently interacting with Airgas customers.As a Local Delivery Driver at Airgas, you will be a part of a professional team that encourages internal mobility while offering our employees a work/life balance.
In addition, Airgas operates a modern and efficient fleet.Most vehicles are under 6 years old and equipped with driver-friendly technology, such as On Board Computers, collision avoidance technology, latest camera technology and GPS navigation.
LOCAL DELIVERY DRIVER
Monday - Friday, local deliveries. Straight Truck - Class A or B CDL with Hazmat Endorsement required.
Drives truck over established route to deliver and sell products while performing the following duties:
Drives truck to deliver gasses and hard goods to customer's places of business.
Performs any non-route delivery(s) necessary to provide customers with product.
Records sales or deliveries information on daily sales or delivery records.
Listens to and resolves service complaints.
Issues sales promotion materials to customers.
Collects or picks up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise. Loads truck.
Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections, documenting deficiencies utilizing Airgas forms and ensure all safety items are in good working order.
Complies with all company policies and meets DOT requirements.Assists inside the retail branch, servicing customers at dock, front counter and over the phone.
Attend safety meetings as scheduled before, during or after daily shifts.
Must have one year of Class A or B CDL driving experience within the last 5 years or have graduated from an accredited driving school.
Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement. Current Medical Examiner's Card.Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
Must be able to work occasional overtime if necessary.
23 - $24 Hourly

Airgas follows the FMSCA requirement for all motor carrier employers to run full queries of the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse database for any violations during the pre-employment process for all new CDL Driver Hires to ensure they are not prohibited from performing safety-sensitive functions.
All new CDL Driver Hires must register for the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse and allow Airgas consent to review their Clearinghouse record.
