    Position Specific Description

    Our Grid Control Systems Department is looking for a skilled SCADA/EMS Support Engineer with a strong background in programming and application development to join their SCADA Applications Development team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in supporting SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and EMS (Energy Management Systems) while possessing advanced programming proficiency in languages like Python, Java, or C++. In addition to SCADA and EMS expertise, you will play a vital role in application development, contributing to the design and implementation of innovative solutions.

    Your responsibilities will include providing support, collaborating on issue resolution, and developing and maintaining custom programs/scripts for automation and optimization. Your expertise in access data in Oracle and MS SQL database, along with a knack for designing and optimizing complex SQL queries, will contribute to the seamless operation and enhancement of critical systems.     Job Overview

    The position is responsible for the planning, development, application architecture, engineering, implementation, and operations of grid monitoring and control systems and corresponding applications.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develops systems including modifying, commissioning, and/or decommissioning the associated applications, programs, and software
  • Supports department emerging technologies strategic opportunities and solutions
  • Coordinates or individually contributes to assigned work plans
  • Executes systems planning, systems development, operational, and maintenance activities of the systems and applications
  • Performs work tasks to ensure reliable performance (availability and integrity) or project delivery of systems and applications
  • Supports and executes the requirements of Florida Reliability Coordinating Council (FRCC) Reliability Coordinator Operations
  • Ensures compliance with the North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) Reliability Standards
  • Executes Operational Excellence goals and initiatives
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's - Engineering
  • Experience: 2+ years
