Purpose and Scope:

The primary purpose of this role is to examine microscopic preparations of cells from various sources (e.g., Pap smears) with the goal of identifying unusual or disease-causing changes in cellular structure that may require immediate medical attention. Additionally, cytotechnologists/cytologists are often involved in quality control processes related to laboratory testing and procedures.
