    General Notes

    Dean of Students staff serve students through programs, events, resources, and services built around student support, student involvement, and student conduct. Our services also include Student Governance Organizations. Dean of Students is one of eight departments in the Division of Student Affairs.

    Purpose

    Works with the Assistant Director for Basic Needs to implement and assess the UT Outpost, food pantry and career closet.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee the campus food pantry and clothing closet, UT Outpost, to address food insecurity and support students impacted by financial hardships. Work with student organizations and campus partners to fulfill the mission of the UT Outpost pantry and sustainability of resources.
    • Recruit, organize and supervise the student staff team to assist with daily operations, food/clothing drives, tabling events, promotions, and any other program or budget needs. Work independently at the UT Outpost.
    • Responsible for the weekly food orders to ensure the program can meet the needs of the student body.
    • Maintain the operational budget for the program.

    Required Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, counseling or related field and three years of experience coordinating student programs. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work under stress, perform multiple tasks, and maintain confidentiality. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build campus partnerships.Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience counseling or working with college students, including the following - food insecurities, basic needs, and supervising student staff. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment regarding student problems, parental and faculty concerns.

    Salary Range

    $58,750 non-negotiable
