    Description

    Job Description:

    • Support the development of structural engineering designs for projects by preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations.
    • Collaborate with other engineers and technical disciplines in a team setting.
    • Position based in Knoxville, TN with occasional business travel.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop concrete and steel structural design and drawings, including seismic elements.
    • Create foundation design and drawings.
    • Conduct formal calculations and drawings.
    • Review existing conditions and drawings.
    • Integrate customer and vendor information into design solutions.
    • Produce design configuration packages and specifications.
    • Work closely with technical disciplines in project planning and execution.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • BS in structural/civil engineering and 9-15 years of related experience or 13-19 years of experience.
    • Facility-specific clearance requiring U.S. Citizenship.
    • Registration as a Structural Professional Engineer in the U.S. or ability to obtain PE within 12 months.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, VISIO, and other common programs.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Utilization of office automation tools effectively.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • MS degree in Structural or related Engineering.
    • Experience with seismic bracing and supports.
    • Proficiency in engineering and design software such as Revit, Tekla, Mathcad, GTSTRUDL, and STAAD.Pro.
    • Knowledge of industry codes and standards like ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, N690.
    • Prior experience with government agencies.
    • Experience with quality assurance programs.
