    ABOUT THE ROLE

    Peloton is looking for a talented Senior Data Engineer to join the Data Engineering team. In this role, you will help scale Peloton's data infrastructure for business needs by building batch and streaming data pipelines that process terabytes of data daily. You will have the opportunity to work with multiple teams of engineers and business partners to support analytics and reporting data needs across the organization.

    This role will be hybrid, not remote.

    YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

  • Design and implement data pipelines to support the data and analytics needs of different stakeholders across multiple business verticals including Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Marketing, Product, etc.
  • Understand end to end data interactions and dependencies across complex data pipelines and data transformation and how they impact business decisions.
  • Monitor and optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability and security.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in data science and engineering.

    YOU BRING TO PELOTON

  • 5+ years in data engineering or software development roles, with intensive experience in designing, optimizing, and building data pipelines, data warehouses, data lakes using modern data engineering technologies such as Airflow, Airbyte, DBT, Apache Hudi, Spark, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience with big data architectures and tools to efficiently process large volumes of data.
  • Strong working knowledge about infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code utilities, such as Linux operating systems, Docker, Kubetnetes, and Terraform.
  • Proficient with at least one programming language: Python, Java, Scala or C++.
  • Excellent understanding and working knowledge of using SQL (PostgreSQL or Redshift preferred) for various reporting and transformation needs.
  • Experiences with REST for accessing cloud based services.
  • Comfortable with Linux operating system and command line tools such as Bash.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science or Technology related field. Advanced degree preferred.

    BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE

  • Experience working in a cloud-based ecosystem, preferably AWS (including RDS, Redshift, Athena, Glue, etc.).
  • Full stack development experience, including web-based front end, would be a big plus.
  • Experience with Kafka, schema registries, and wire formats.
  • Experience with CI/CD Systems such as for example: Jenkins, ArgoCD, Harness, Tekton, etc.
  • Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.
  • Experience with Git/GitHub, Agile/Scrum development process.
