    Position Specific Description

    This role will be responsible for overseeing NextEra's and Third-Party customer's generation fleet in PJM's day-ahead and real-time markets, transacting short term energy and transmission purchases and sales, and closely working with fuels group to balance plant requirements. This role will leverage the trader's knowledge of fossil, renewable and storage generation dispatch economics as well as their understanding of PJM ISO's tariff and protocols to recommend actions to the asset business managers to optimize the economic dispatch of the units while observing limitations within the energy management services agreement. Trader will coordinate generator's submissions to the ISO Capacity market per business manager's direction. The trader will utilize market portals and transmission reservation systems to execute the approved market strategy. This position may lead and direct a team of junior traders.

    Activities

    • Consult with business managers to maximize profitability of generation assets while operating within regional ISO rules
    • Conduct day-ahead trading and scheduling for purchases and sales of energy and transmission
    • Determines generation requirements and coordinates fuel procurement to meet dispatch obligations
    • Develop procedures and protocols for Real-Time desk traders
    • Accurately record purchase and sale transactions in deal capture systems
    • Coordinates communication of offer strategy and dispatch instructions/changes between ISO, plant site, NEER Generation control center (ROCC), Fuels desk and Real-Time desk
    • Ability to assist in training and supporting other traders

    • Determines generation requirements and coordinates fuel procurement to meet obligations
    • Coaches junior traders
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Grad / GED
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Experience:5+ years
