Salary
Journeymen in an appropriate skilled trade who have completed an apprenticeship program registered by the Department of Labor or equivalent will start at $50,908 annually.
Proof of completion of a registered Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program and Journeyman status must be submitted at the time of filing the Employment Application or upon request.
Position Specifications
Incumbents in this position design, program, install, maintain and repair radio, electronic and mechanical control systems and system instruments and devices requiring an in-depth knowledge of computer-based control systems design and programming.
Minimum Qualifications
An Associate's degree in Electronic Engineering Technology or completion of a two-year training program in electronics from a recognized trade school; OR two years of experience maintaining and repairing Building Automation Control Systems.
License:
Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must be able to present valid driver's license upon request. Please note type of license, number, class and expiration date on the Employment Application.
Documentation of academic credentials must be submitted upon request.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience installing, maintaining and repairing traffic control systems, instruments and devices.
When completing the Employment History and the Educational/Training History sections of the Employment Application, please be as thorough as possible when describing your education, training and experience relating to this position.
Your employment experience and training will be used to determine whether you meet the entrance requirements for this position and to compute your experience and training evaluation.

S PREFERENCE POINTS:

S PREFERENCE POINTS:
City residents who pass an examination for a position in the classified service and do not receive any other preference will receive a five (5) point preference on a scale of 100 points on the exam.
An additional one (1) point shall be added to the passing score of City residents who receive any other preference on a scale of 100 points.
City residents must have resided in the City for at least one (1) year at the time of filing their application to be eligible for the preference points.
