Our QC Inspector position performs inspections or testing to ensure conformity with the type of design engineering data. They document their results, identify defects, and report when instances of poor-quality items increase.Quality Control Inspectors safely discard or destroy items that don't meet the necessary specifications to prevent unsatisfactory inventory from reaching production.
You'll play a key role in ensuring that all products meet our established requirements for reliability and workmanship, as well as other quality control program standards.
The ideal candidate has keen attention to detail and is proficient in using precision dimensional inspection equipment including, but not limited to, calipers and micrometers.
How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
Retrieval and interpretation of technical documentsInterpretation of technical documents to develop an inspection planPeriodic inspection of components during various stages of manufacturingFinal acceptance of aircraft sub-assemblies Performing First Article InspectionsComplete required documentation and enter into ERP system, create inspection reports as neededCreate nonconformance reports as neededParticipate in MRB reviews as neededCommunicate technical requirements to shop personnelPrioritize workflowMaintain measuring equipmentContribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Perform tasks as needed per individual jobsMaintain a clean work environment, and comply with safety requirements.Minimum Qualifications we are seeking:
High School graduate or equivalentAbility to read and interpret blueprints and Engineering drawingsTwo or more years of experience in Quality Control in AerospaceA minimum of 2 years in manufacturingKnowledge of Quality Management Systems such as AS9100Knowledge of FAA regulations and Aerospace conformity requirementsWorking knowledge of GD&TExperience performing dimensional inspections using standard precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gage blocksProficient in the use of computer applications such as Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, and/or web-based software.
Strong written and verbal communication skillsMechanical aptitudeAbility to work independently, but function as a team playerAbove and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:
Knowledge of ASME Y14.5Two or four-year degree in Mechanical EngineeringWorking knowledge of CAD software including Catia, or Onshape.
Certification from the American Society for Quality (ASQ)
Experience with quality control techniques such as Six SigmaExperience in at least one form of non-destructive inspection such as Fluorescent Penetrant InspectionExperienced interfacing with Business Enterprise Systems such as Plex.
Experience with Inspection software such as InspectionXpert, NetInspect, or equivalent reporting softwareExperience working with a manufacturing team to develop new processes.
Knowledge of aircraft electrical systems or interiorsKnowledge of manual/automated drilling techniques, tooling, robotics, and hardwareWorking knowledge of a large variety of materials aluminum, steel, compositesKnowledge of aircraft structural assembly Working knowledge of a large variety of aerospace materials such as composites and fasteners, such as Cherry Maxibolts, Hi-Lites/Loks, or Composi-lok Type 3Familiarity with electric motorsIndustry experience supporting battery manufacturingDirect working experience in one of more of the following:battery OCV testing, battery leak testing, battery vibration testing, battery HIL testing, battery pack environmental sealing, or qualifying batteries to safety standardsPhysical Demands and
Work Environment:
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment using OSHA-required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift a minimum of 50lbs.
