Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician III to join our team in San Francisco, CA.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and calibration of a wide range of biomedical equipment used in healthcare settings.
This role requires advanced technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with clinical and technical staff.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on complex biomedical equipment and systems.
Calibrate and test medical devices to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.
Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Train and mentor Biomedical Equipment Technician I and II staff, providing technical guidance and support.
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure equipment functionality and safety, responding promptly to urgent repair requests.
Assist in the evaluation and installation of new biomedical equipment and technology.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of biomedical technology trends, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Participate in quality assurance and safety programs related to biomedical equipment.
Qualifications
Associate's degree or higher in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician, with at least 2 years at an advanced or senior level.
Certification such as CBET (Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician) preferred.Strong knowledge of medical device standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
Proficient in using diagnostic tools, test equipment, and CMMS software.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to lift and maneuver equipment as required and work flexible hours including on-call shifts.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Must pass background and drug screen.
Work Environment
This position is based in San Francisco, CA, and involves working in hospital and clinical environments. The role may require occasional travel between facilities and adherence to strict safety and infection control protocols.
