    Overview:

    Bayview Asset Management is seeking to hire an experienced investment professional to serve as a Residential Whole Loan Portfolio Manager within its newly established Insurance Asset Management business. Partnering with senior business and investment leaders across Bayview, the successful candidate will be a critical component of developing and scaling Bayviews footprint with Insurance clients.

    The incoming Portfolio Manager will leverage their deep knowledge of insurance company investment needs, risk appetite, and residential whole loan investments to understand and achieve client objectives. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to bring deep expertise to a new business within Bayview, as well as play a key role in driving business growth and cementing future success. T he salary range for this role is $250,000 to $350,000 plus incentive compensation in the form of discretionary bonus and deferred; however, Bayview considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidates work experience, education/training, location and key skills. Person will also be eligible for excellent benefits.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work directly with existing and prospective insurance company clients to understand investment objectives and risk appetite.
    • Develop and implement insurance-specific strategic and tactical asset allocation, utilizing Bayview investment products and market positioning within the Residential Whole Loan space to effectively match investment opportunities with client objectives.
    • Identify, develop, and cultivate relationships with third-party clients, providing market insights and excellent client service.
    • Collaborate with senior-level investment and company leadership to develop and execute strategic priorities for key relationships, as well as the overall Insurance Asset Management business.
    Qualifications:
    • Established experience in insurance portfolio management
    • Deep knowledge of public and private fixed income instruments, particularly Residential Whole Loans (Agency NOO & Second Home, Prime & Near Prime Jumbo, Non-QM & Long-term RPL, etc.)
    • Strong understanding of insurance company regulations across various regimes; statutory and GAAP insurance investment accounting, risk management frameworks, etc.
    • Asset-liability management experience in an insurance company environment; ability to identify investment opportunities tailored to investor liabilities, convexity and credit risk tolerance as well as FHLB requirements
    • Knowledge of formulating and implementing insurance-specific strategic and tactical asset allocation
    • Strong relationship management focus, with established track record of developing relationships with prospective and existing clients.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders; strong executive presence
    • High attention-to-detail, time management, and organizational skills
    • Ability to collaborate and thrive in a team environment; desire to contribute to team management and development as the business scales.

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE :

    • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in investment management, with a focus on managing insurance portfolios
    • Undergraduate degree or higher; MBA and/or CFA preferred.

    Compensation and location:

    • This role will be based in Bayviews Morristown, NJ office
    • Base compensation is expected to be $250-350k, with opportunity for incentive compensation including bonus and deferred compensation
