    Job Summary

    In this role, the Sr. Supply Chain Analyst will be part of the Panasonic battery supply chain team focusing on sourcing localization and supply development for cell raw materials and components that make up the building blocks of the Panasonic cells. You will be responsible for identifying and developing localized supply candidates, managing and negotiating commercial contracts, and working side by side with our engineering and supplier quality counterparts to implement qualification programs. You will also serve as liaison between the Panasonic Battery Supply Operations in North America (Nevada and Kansas) and Panasonic Energy company (PEC) in Osaka Japan.

    Essential Duties

    • Lead RFI / RFQ and sourcing due diligence process.
    • Provide sourcing category expertise for raw materials for lithium-ion battery.
    • Support development of category strategies based on analysis of supply market dynamics, business requirements, global and localized supply landscape and category intelligence.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with Manufacturing, Materials Development, Supply Quality and Sales Engineering,
    • Assess supplier capabilities and identify new suppliers.
    • Analyze and summarize RFI / RFQ responses and prepare recommendations for Senior Management
    • Prepare and present business cases and should-cost models, perform data analysis and build supply models for ROI and make vs. buy decisions, etc.
    • Establish contract terms and conditions and coordinate with legal to execute contracts with suppliers.
    • Execute price and contract negotiations, drive values beyond cost, understand risk management.
    • Work with policy team to ensure IRA compliance through sourcing and material development strategies.

    Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

    • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a requirement for some roles at PENA and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

    Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

    Education

    • Basic/Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or similar discipline
    • Preferred: MBA and other relevant degree /certification (e.g., ISM CPSM) highly desirable

    Essential Qualifications

    • 5+ years of procurement or supply chain management experience in areas such as manufacturing, purchasing, or other area.
    • Deep experience designing end-to-end procurement strategies and a track record of leading sustainable high impact sourcing approaches levering sourcing levers beyond tendering.
    • Experience with category management strategies for categories in scope: opportunity diagnostic, strategic sourcing process, supplier management with a proven track record of delivering business impact.
    • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills: record of managing relationships across the business to achieve objectives.
    • Expert understanding of contract terms and techniques for driving additional value and managing risks
    • Demonstrated analytical, financial, problem solving, organization, and project management skills.
    • Ability to support, lead, plan, and conduct successful negotiations.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with attention to detail are required.
    • Strong analytic, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. Able to influence others to move towards a common goal.
    • Self-motivation and resourcefulness are required.
    • Able to manage multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment, effectively prioritize work, and deliver quality results.
    • Intuitive, adaptable, creative, and collaborative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • A background in high-volume manufacturing is strongly desired.
    • Experience in Battery and EV industry
    • Experience working with raw materials supplier identification, development and management.
    • Background in supplier relationship management (SRM).
    • Alignment to Panasonic's seven (7) core principles (contribution to society, fairness and honesty, cooperation and team spirit, untiring effort for improvement, courtesy and humility, adaptability, gratitude)
